A Nigerian services business for small-scale mining

Talixis Mining Services is a Nigerian-owned business. We provide the studies, the measurements and the plant that let small-scale mining run on evidence and without mercury.

Small-scale miners often dig with little information about their ground, and mercury is still widely used to recover the gold. We replace guesswork with measured results, and mercury with gravity.

Our sister company, Talixis Resources, explores for gold, lithium and tantalite in western Nigeria. We never use a client's results for its ground.

Desktop studies and licensing support

Before you apply for ground, buy into it or fund it, find out what stands behind it.

A desktop study checks a block against the Mining Cadastre, the published geology and the national airborne geophysical survey. It tells you plainly whether the ground is worth the next step.

When you are ready to apply, we prepare the licence application with a Nigerian mining lawyer, a licensed surveyor and a registered geoscientist.

Measure

Sampling and assays

Know what your ground holds before you dig deeper or pay more.

On alluvial ground we wash a measured pit in full and weigh the gold in front of you. For hard rock, tailings and concentrates we take sealed samples and send them to an accredited laboratory, with check samples in every batch.

You get a written result. The samples and any gold recovered stay yours.

Mercury-free gravity plants

In development

A small plant that recovers gold with water and gravity.

We are developing a containerised gravity plant for small-scale operations. We engineer each installation around the ground it will treat: the ore, the water, the power and the layout.

Plants will be offered for sale or lease, with installation, operator training, spares and maintenance.

A small gravity plant, without mercury

In development

The plant washes and screens the ore, then recovers the gold in a centrifugal concentrator. The concentrate is upgraded on a shaking table and smelted directly with borax.

No mercury and no cyanide are used at any stage. Tailings settle in lined ponds, and the clear water goes back to the plant.

The first model treats alluvial gravel and weathered ore. A crushing and milling front end for hard rock will follow.

Design values

Method: Gravity only: screen, sluice, centrifugal concentrator, shaking table
Reagents: No mercury, no cyanide. Direct smelting with borax
Capacity: About 2 tonnes an hour of screened feed
Feed: Alluvial gravel and weathered ore, screened at 2 mm
Water: Lined settling ponds, with process water reused
Power: A small diesel generator, with solar lighting
Form: Containerised and portable

Our rules

Licensed ground only

We sample and install only on licensed ground, and we check every title before we start.

Your results stay yours

Results go only to you. We never use them for our sister company's ground. If we see an opportunity near yours, you hear about it first, as a written offer.

Paid for the work

Our fees do not depend on what your ground holds, and we do not buy gold.
